Overview

Here's a quick look at the four main sections of Dash POS:

This is where you organize your products into categories that appear in the POS. Create categories like "Hot Beverages" or "Sandwiches," add products to them, and assign modifiers. Your staff browse this menu when building orders.

Modifiers

Modifier sets are groups of options you attach to products. There are two types:

  • Selection modifiers — pick one (for example, a size).

  • Quantity modifiers — add multiples (for example, syrup shots at +$0.25 each).

Create your modifier sets, then assign them to the products that need them.

KDS (Kitchen Display System)

The KDS is a web-based screen that shows incoming orders with full modifier details in real time. Open the KDS link from your admin in any browser — on a tablet, monitor, or any screen in your kitchen. Enable it in Settings > KDS.

Analytics

Track modifier performance with data Shopify doesn't natively provide. See total orders, modifier revenue, top modifiers, modifier set performance, and key indicators like average modifiers per order and adoption rate. Filter analytics by date range and location.
